Duplexed, edge-painted, blind-debossed business cards for Portland's BRIGHT DESIGNLAB.
Since the subtlety of the blind-pressed pattern on the front of the card is crucial, we couldn't press both sides of the paper. So we printed the front and back on separate 300g sheets, the glued, trimmed, and edge-painted.

This Savoy stock is becoming a favorite for business cards. It isn't crazy thick, but it's enough to allow for two-sided letterpress without much impression show-through.

Two beautiful sets of blind-embossed holiday cards designed by Chad at The G Brand.
A quick refresher: A blind emboss uses a convex die to press the paper from the back into a concave counter-die in the front creating a raised surface. This is not to be confused with a letterpress deboss — the impression made by a letterpress die pressing into the front of the paper.
Client-designed invitations with simple gray letterpress on the front and gold foil on the back. We printed the front and back on separate sheets then duplexed after printing for a thick card with no impression show-through.

Simple one-color cards on thick 540g Colorplan paper for the Atlantic Beach restaurant, Pescara. Metallic letterpress inks show just a hint of shimmer, and unlike most inks, they're opaque so they look great on dark papers.
